Balance of Payments covers statistics on all cross border transactions recorded on foreign direct investment, foreign affiliated trade and resource flows to developing countries.

In 2014, the Balance of Payment and National Accounts Unit at the ECCB embarked on a project jointly with the Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Center (CARTAC) to implement the IMF Balance of Payments and International Investment Position (IIP) Manual, Sixth Edition (BPM6) in the ECCU. The BOP survey instrument were also designed to capture International Investment Position data for the reporting country. The aim of introducing data users to the BPM6 and allowing smooth transition to the BPM6, resulted in the release of summary tables of the preliminary BOP, TiS (Trade in Services), IIP estimates for the member territories and the ECCU.
